About Us

SummitCountyScholarships.org is a free web-based, scholarship search tool for high-school students who live in the Summit County area. Funded by the GAR Foundation, the goal of this project is to increase the number of Summit County high-school students who pursue post-secondary educations, and help them understand where they can find tuition assistance dollars offered in the community.

The GAR Foundation, which is the largest foundation in Summit County and one of the largest in Northeast Ohio, concentrates philanthropic endeavors on five primary areas of giving: education, arts & arts education, health & social services, civic enhancement and nonprofit enhancement. The Foundation’s focus on education and its ongoing support of the community’s campaign to build an educated and skilled labor force, made the establishment of the SummitCountyScholarships.org website a natural fit.
